Karachi, In a significant development in Quetta, Sarfraz Ahmed Bungulzai, a commander of the banned militant group Baloch National Army (BNA), along with seventy of his companions, surrendered to Law Enforcement Agencies. This event marks a notable shift in the ongoing efforts to stabilize the region and foster national unity.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the surrender was publicly announced at a press conference held in Quetta, where the provincial Information Minister Jan Achakzai was also present. The surrendered militants expressed their commitment to abandoning their previous path and contributing positively to the development and prosperity of Pakistan.
Minister Jan Achakzai, addressing the gathering, emphasized the integral link between the development of Pakistan and that of Balochistan. He asserted that anti-state elements would not succeed in their destructive goals. This surrender is seen as a hopeful sign of diminishing militant activities in the region and a step towards the peace and development of Balochistan, and by extension, Pakistan.
