Islamabad, Pakistan is set to experience continued cold and dry weather in most regions, with fog and smog expected in several plain areas, as per the latest synoptic situation. The National Weather Forecasting Centre in Islamabad issued a weather update indicating that continental air is currently dominating the country’s weather pattern.
According to National Weather Forecasting Centre – Islamabad, the forecast for Monday anticipates mainly cold and dry conditions across the country. However, there is a likelihood of smog and fog during the night in the plains of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Sindh. Similar weather conditions are expected to persist into Tuesday, with smog and fog becoming more prominent during morning and night hours in the same regions.
The past 24 hours have seen cold and dry weather prevailing over most parts of the country, with some areas experiencing partly cloudy and cold conditions, particularly in the upper parts. The recorded lowest minimum temperatures have been notably low, with Leh experiencing temperatures as low as -09°C, Skardu at -06°C, and Kalam at -04°C. Meanwhile, Gilgit, Hunza, Gupis, and Kalat recorded a minimum temperature of 02°C.
These weather conditions, characterized by low temperatures and fog, are typical for this time of the year in Pakistan.
