Islamabad, Pakistan is expected to experience mainly cold and dry weather conditions in most parts of the country over the weekend, with smog and fog persisting in certain regions during night and morning hours. The northern districts are likely to remain partly cloudy.
According to the National Weather Forecasting Centre – Islamabad, the current weather pattern is influenced by continental air prevailing over most parts of the country, along with a shallow westerly wave present over its northern parts. The forecast for Saturday indicates cold and dry weather in most regions, while smog and fog are expected to continue in upper Sindh, the plain areas of Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the night. The weather on Sunday is expected to follow a similar pattern, with the addition of smog and fog in the morning hours as well.
The past 24 hours have seen cold and dry weather conditions prevailing across the country. The recorded lowest minimum temperatures (in degrees Celsius) for today were in Leh (-10), Skardu (-8), Srinagar (-5), Astore and Kalam (-4), Gilgit (-3), and in Kalat and Quetta (-2).
