Cold and Dry Weather Expected Across Pakistan, Dense Fog in Punjab, Says Weather Forecast

Islamabad, Pakistan is set to experience mainly cold and dry weather in most parts, with particularly frigid conditions in the northern regions and northern Balochistan. Dense fog and smog are also expected to persist in the plain areas of Punjab, impacting visibility and travel.

According to National Weather Forecasting Centre – Islamabad, the current synoptic situation shows continental air prevailing over most parts of the country. The weather forecast for Wednesday predicts cold and dry conditions throughout Pakistan, with very cold weather in the north and northern Balochistan. Dense fog and smog are anticipated in Punjab’s plain areas, with similar conditions likely in the plains of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and upper Sindh during the night.

The forecast for Thursday remains similar, with cold and dry weather expected nationwide. The northern regions and northern Balochistan will continue to experience very cold conditions. Dense fog and smog are again likely in Punjab, extending to Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and upper Sindh during night and morning hours. Additionally, frost may occur in a few places in Kashmir during the morning.

The past 24 hours have seen cold and dry weather prevailing over most parts of the country, with particularly low temperatures recorded in the northern areas. The lowest minimum temperatures recorded today were in Skardu and Leh at -09°C, followed by Kalam at -05°C, and Gupis, Gilgit at -04°C.

The weather update underscores the need for residents in affected areas to take necessary precautions against the cold and foggy conditions.
