Miran Shah, North Waziristan Agency, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of Pakistan, marked the Eid-ul-Fitr celebration with troops in Miran Shah and Spinwam, North Waziristan Agency, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. His visit focused on acknowledging the military’s efforts and emphasizing the importance of security and stability in the region.
According to Inter Services Public Relations, the COAS participated in Eid prayers at the frontline, praying for Pakistan’s lasting stability and prosperity. He extended festive greetings to the soldiers, recognizing their continuous commitment and sacrifices for the country. During the visit, General Munir was briefed comprehensively on the operational preparedness and the current security situation, with a particular emphasis on border security along the Pak-Afghan Border.
The COAS commended the efforts in achieving peace and stability, linking these to the sacrifices made by martyrs and their role in promoting socio-economic development, especially in the Newly Merged Districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He highlighted the detrimental effects of terrorism on progress and stressed the need for collective vigilance against forces aiming to undermine the region’s peace.
General Munir’s message to the troops was clear: maintain a steadfast commitment to professional duties to safeguard the nation’s interests. The visit began with a warm reception by the Commander Peshawar Corps.
