CM Reviews Upcoming ADP: Focus on Water, Solar Energy, Industrial, Agricultural Development


KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah chaired a high-level meeting at the Chief Minister’s House to review proposals for the upcoming Annual Development Programme (ADP) as part of the provincial budget for the fiscal year 2025-26.



The meeting saw the presence of key officials including Minister for Planning and Development Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah, and Chairman of the P and D Board Najam Ahmed Shah, among others.



The Chief Minister announced that the new ADP will prioritize development schemes centered on water supply, drainage, solar energy, as well as industrial and agricultural development. A special emphasis was placed on rebuilding schools damaged by recent floods.



Murad Shah instructed the Planning and Development Department to meticulously plan both ongoing and proposed schemes, prioritizing those nearing completion while ensuring thorough evaluations of all new proposals.



Highlighting the scale of the current year’s development program, the Chief Minister noted that the Annual Development Programme for 2024-25 was valued at Rs493 billion, with Rs55 billion allocated to the District ADP.



He further stated that 4,644 development schemes were underway during the current fiscal year, with an expectation that 1,812 of these will be completed by June 2025.



The meeting concluded with an agreement to conduct detailed reviews of all proposed new schemes to assess their relevance and feasibility before their inclusion in the 2025-26 budget.
