Lahore: The Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has initiated a transformative program aimed at modernizing agriculture across the province, significantly impacting the livelihoods of local farmers. The ambitious initiative includes the distribution of agricultural machinery such as green tractors and combine harvesters, fundamentally reshaping farming practices in Punjab. In an unprecedented achievement, 30,000 tractors have been distributed in just two years, with ongoing plans to deliver an additional 10,000.

According to Chief Minister of Punjab, the CM High-Tech Mechanization Financing Program is facilitating access to advanced farming equipment through a Rs. 30 billion loan allocation for farmers and service providers. This initiative has already seen the deployment of 5,000 super seeders at a cost of Rs. 4 billion, enhancing wheat sowing efficiency and aiding in the reduction of smog via rice super seeders.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif has highlighted that mechanization is pivotal in transitioning Punjab’s agriculture towards modern practices, which are crucial for reducing operational costs and boosting productivity. She has called upon farmers to abandon outdated techniques in favor of these new technologies to ensure agricultural growth and sustainability.
