Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has mandated an extensive operation to recover government lands from illegal occupants throughout the province. She instructed relevant authorities to reclaim all state properties without yielding to any pressure or political influence.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the Forest Department, assisted by police forces, executed a significant operation in Khanpur Tehsil, recovering 90 acres of land. Additionally, a goal has been established to recover 188 acres from the Khanpur Forest Reserve.
During the operation, members of the land mafia attacked the Forest Department team, stealing cash and mobile phones and attempting to ignite a government vehicle. They also removed a battery from a tractor. Authorities have filed a case against the influential suspects, and police are actively pursuing them.
Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb praised the efforts of the Forest Department and police, emphasizing that safeguarding government lands is a primary priority for the administration. She reassured that all lands under the forest department’s jurisdiction will be recovered.
Aurangzeb also called for public cooperation, highlighting that the success of the operation hinges on public support and that violators will face consequences.
