Lahore: The Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has initiated the ‘Chief Minister Punjab Solarization for Agricultural Tube Wells Program,’ which aims to convert 8,000 agricultural tube wells to solar energy across the province. The deadline for application submissions for the solarization initiative has been extended to accommodate more applicants.
According to Chief Minister of Punjab, a subsidy totaling Rs. 9 billion will be provided to support the solarization effort. The subsidy structure includes Rs. 5 lac for systems up to 10 kW, Rs. 7.5 lac for up to 15 kW, and Rs. 10 lac for up to 20 kW. Eligible applicants must own at least one acre of agricultural land. The application process can be completed online at cmstp.punjab.gov.pk, and the necessary forms are available for download at www.agripunjab.gov.pk.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif emphasized the government’s commitment to fulfilling promises made to farmers, stating that the solarization initiative will offer relief from high electricity costs. She noted that the prosperity of farmers is a priority whenever the PML-N government is in power.
