CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif Marks Election Anniversary with Gratitude


Lahore: Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, expressed her gratitude and paid tribute to President of the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N), Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on the completion of one year since the general elections were held in the country.



According to a statement by Chief Minister of Punjab, she highlighted the vision of her father, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, and the progress made under the leadership of her uncle, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. She commended the Prime Minister for achieving what seemed impossible amid economic challenges and political instability, noting improvements such as increased exports, a rise in remittances, and a decrease in inflation.



Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif emphasized the significance of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit held in Pakistan, describing it as the decade’s most important event. She remarked on the positive trajectory of the country’s economy, citing reduced interest rates and a narrowing current account deficit.



She also acknowledged the Pakistan Stock Exchange’s growth, calling it the region’s fastest-growing revenue market. The Chief Minister asserted that economic development and prosperity for the people are characteristic of the PML-N’s governance.



Maryam Nawaz Sharif further stated that Punjab stands out as the only province with a low inflation rate in food and beverages, and expressed optimism for the province’s farmers and residents, who she believes are beginning to witness progress and prosperity.
