CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif Initiates Comprehensive Educational Reforms in Punjab

Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has initiated a series of educational reforms aimed at improving the education sector in Punjab.

According to Chief Minister of Punjab, these efforts include the launch of several key programs and initiatives since Sharif took office, such as the Honhar Scholarship program, a public school reorganization, and a higher education internship. The initiatives also encompass the provision of buses for girls’ colleges in every tehsil, a back-to-school enrollment campaign, and the establishment of science and IT laboratories in government schools.

Sharif’s administration has also focused on modernizing the education system by planning artificial intelligence education based on the Chinese model for elementary classes. For the first time, education officers are being appointed on merit, and a single authority for curriculum development and teacher training is being established. The administration has also launched the biggest higher education internship program in the history of Punjab, recruiting 7,354 college teacher interns and starting a project to provide tetra pack milk to children in government schools.

The Chief Minister has emphasized the importance of accessibility to education, launching a campaign to ensure access for out-of-school children. New initiatives such as Google certification courses for students and special preparatory courses for aspiring medical and engineering students have been introduced. Sharif has pledged that there will be no shortage of resources for children’s education, and improvements will be made to meet modern educational requirements.
