Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif extended her congratulations to the participants of the Health & Population Department, celebrating the success of the operation ‘Bunyaan-um-Marsoos’ during a recent meeting. She remarked that the operation has bolstered national confidence and fostered a renewed sense of unity. Further, she acknowledged Muhammad Nawaz Sharif’s role in strengthening Pakistan’s defense through nuclear enhancements, elevating the country’s standing globally.
The Chief Minister called for a comprehensive plan to ensure blood provision to patients across Punjab, aligning with international standards. She approved in principle the establishment of a Thalassemia center in each division, along with additional centers in 21 districts and 15 tehsil headquarters hospitals. A decision was made to implement a ‘Central Monitoring System’ to streamline the provincial health department.
She urged for the timely completion of the hospital revamping process, aiming to refurbish 800 health centers by June 20. Additionally, she directed the establishment of a robust monitoring system for cleanliness and security in district and tehsil hospitals throughout Punjab. The meeting also reviewed projects for the upcoming financial year, including 71 ‘Maryam Nawaz Health Clinic’ initiatives and 75 ‘Population Management & Family Planning’ programs.
The discussion included projects for rehabilitating dispensaries and MCL centers, and the provision of necessary equipment and furniture across Punjab. A plan for the production of oxygen and essential gases in the province was introduced. There was unanimous agreement on the proposal to establish a ‘Trauma Centre’ with modern equipment in hospitals across the region. The Chief Minister underscored the importance of hiring trained staff to operate advanced medical machinery in government hospitals.
