CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif Commemorates Kashmir Exploitation Day with a Call for Peaceful Resolution

Lahore: On Kashmir Exploitation Day, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif honored the sacrifices of the people in Occupied Kashmir and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to advocating for their cause on global platforms. She emphasized the need for a peaceful resolution to the Kashmir issue as essential for the stability and prosperity of South Asia.

According to Punjab Portal announcement issued on 05 August 2024, CM Sharif’s message highlighted the ongoing struggles faced by Kashmiris since August 5, 2019, when changes by India transformed Jammu and Kashmir into what she described as an open prison. She questioned the international community’s prolonged silence and passive stance towards the oppression and brutality endured by the Kashmiris. Sharif expressed solidarity, stating that every Pakistani’s heart beats in unison with their Kashmiri brethren, underscoring Pakistan’s unwavering support for Kashmiri rights and self-determination.
