CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif Approves Tier-Four Data Centre and International University Campuses in Nawaz Sharif IT City


Lahore: Pakistan is set to inaugurate its first Tier-Four Data Centre in Nawaz Sharif IT City, following approval from Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif. This initiative marks a significant step in enhancing the country’s technological infrastructure.



According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the data center will be established in collaboration with a Chinese institution. During a special meeting to assess the progress of the CBD Nawaz Sharif IT City project, it was revealed that universities from China, England, and other countries are planning to establish campuses in the IT City. Notable institutions such as Tang, Xurt, and Baifang Institute of Vocational Education will set up operations there, alongside Buckinghamshire University and Imperial College London, which have also expressed interest.



A new Artificial Intelligence and Information Technology University will be created in collaboration with these international universities. The Chief Minister has tasked the Central Business District with the objective of attracting additional international university campuses to the IT City. She has also instructed all stakeholders to expedite the completion of the Nawaz Sharif IT City Twin Towers.
