Climate Change Education to Be Enhanced in Pakistani Summer Camps


Islamabad, The Prime Minister’s coordinator on climate change, Ms. Romina Khurshid Alam, announced plans to integrate climate change education into the curriculum during a meeting with the UNICEF country director for Pakistan, Mr. Abdullah A. Fadil, today. This initiative is part of a broader effort to raise awareness among students about environmental issues.



According to Press Information Department, Ms. Khurshid Alam highlighted the collaboration with the Secretary of Federal Education and Professional Training and the Chairman of the Higher Education Commission to infuse climate change content into educational programs. She also disclosed plans for the establishment of a COP cell by the Ministry of Climate Change to address climate actions and risks, which Pakistan will present at the upcoming UNFCCC COP29. The meeting also explored various concepts to promote climate-focused tourism, entertainment, sports, and economic initiatives. Mr. Fadil affirmed UNICEF’s continued support for these ambitious endeavors, including collaboration on COP29.
