Islamabad, March 31, 2022 (PPI-OT):NAB clarifies as per the details, that the accused Abdul Khaliq Vicky Patwari MDA and three others were arrested on March 28, 2022 pursuant to dismissal of their pre-arrest bails, pending since 2018, from the learned Accountability Court Multan. The accused has been charged under corruption in Multan Metro Case and the reference had already been filed before the Learned Accountability Court Multan and the same is under trial as per the law.
The Learned Accountability Court Multan granted ten days physical remand on March 29, 2022 of all the accused persons. The accused Abdul Khaliq Vicky (patwari) in the morning of March 30, 2022 at about 6 a.m. attempted to commit suicide by consuming toilet cleaner chemical but due to timely action, Abdul Khaliq Vicky patwari was immediately shifted to Nishter Hospital Multan where he was admitted in Nishter Hospital Multan in the emergency ward in order to save his life.
The complete medical treatment including all necessary tests were conducted and consequently due to improvement of his health condition and satisfactory tests reports, the doctors shifted him in the regular ward.
However, due to deterioration of his health condition at midnight in the hospital unfortunately, he expired at around 7.45 am today i.e. 31.03.2022 in Nishter Hospital Multan. The incident of suicide attempt by the accused persons which was reported to Bahaudin Zikria police station and FIR No. 438/22 got registered u/s 325 Cr.PC on 30.03.2022 at Bahaudin Zikria police station.
It is emphasized that while observing SOPs of NAB, no maltreatment was even made with the accused while in physical custody. The Honourable Chairman NAB has immediately constituted a fact finding committee to submit report on the incident within 72 hours.
