CJP Pledges to Enhance Judicial Access in Remote Regions


Booni: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Yahya Afridi has reaffirmed his commitment to extending access to justice across the country’s most remote regions. Speaking to judicial officers and members of the bar in Booni, located in the upper Chitral district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Justice Afridi emphasized the importance of integrity, mutual respect, and accountability as essential pillars of judicial independence.



The Chief Justice assured full institutional support for strengthening the district judiciary. He highlighted ongoing reforms and announced that over 3.3 billion rupees have been allocated from the Access to Justice Development Fund and federal government grants. These funds are intended to upgrade court infrastructure and public facilities by August 2026.



Justice Afridi also emphasized the need for performance evaluation systems for judges. He mentioned that efforts are underway in collaboration with the Ministry of Information Technology to implement these systems, underscoring the judiciary’s commitment to transparency and efficiency.
