Citywide Security Operations in Islamabad Result in Checks on 669 Individuals

ISLAMABAD: A comprehensive security operation is currently underway in Islamabad, resulting in the inspection of 669 individuals, as part of efforts to combat crime and enhance public safety in the federal capital. This initiative follows directives from Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the search and combing operations were executed under the supervision of zonal Superintendents of Police (SPs) across various police station jurisdictions. The operations included thorough checks of 313 houses, 68 shops, 19 hotels, 277 motorcycles, and 77 vehicles. As a result, 29 individuals deemed suspicious and 19 motorcycles were taken to police stations for further legal proceedings.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza stated that the primary goal of these operations is to intensify security measures around criminal elements and strengthen the city’s security framework. He affirmed that the Islamabad Police remain committed to taking decisive action against criminals, land grabbers, and drug traffickers.

Residents are encouraged by the police to assist in maintaining security by reporting any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or via the emergency helpline “Pucar-15.”
