Rourkela, A member of the Indian Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) was tragically found deceased in the Rourkela Steel Plant in Odisha, India. The incident has prompted an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the deceased CISF personnel, identified as 31-year-old Sahil Kumar, was discovered hanging from a tree within the force’s barracks located in the Sundargarh district. Kumar, originally from Jammu in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, was stationed at the Rourkela Steel Plant.
Kumar was reported missing after he failed to report for duty on Wednesday night. His colleagues, unable to locate him, later found his body hanging in the barracks. The Central Industrial Security Force promptly reported the incident to the local authorities.
Simon Lakra, the inspector-in-charge of the Plant Site police station, stated that preliminary investigations suggest the case to be a suicide. He confirmed that further inquiries are ongoing and that the body would be handed over to relatives following a post-mortem examination.
The incident has cast a somber mood over the CISF unit and raised questions about the welfare of personnel stationed in such high-stress environments.
