Lahore, In a meeting at the Central Police Office in Lahore, Inspector General of Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, was briefed on the significant achievements of the Chiniot Police by District Police Officer (DPO) Abdullah Ahmad and his team.
According to Punjab Police, DPO Abdullah Ahmed outlined the successful operations of the Chiniot district police over the past four months. The police force successfully recovered stolen goods valued at more than 60 million rupees, returning them to their rightful owners. A total of 167 cases were registered against illegal weapons, resulting in the arrest of 167 suspects and the recovery of firearms including 5 Kalashnikovs, 26 guns, 9 rifles, and 116 pistols.
The Chiniot Police also made considerable progress in solving serious crimes, tracing 5 blind murder cases, arresting individuals involved in 23 murder incidents, and apprehending 664 proclaimed offenders. Additionally, 38 members of 14 dacoit gangs were arrested, with stolen goods worth over 10 million rupees recovered.
In their crackdown against drugs, the police recovered 145 kg of charas and 15,267 liters of alcohol and liquor. Furthermore, 494 cases were registered in a campaign against electricity theft, leading to numerous arrests. The DPO also reported that 69 police officers and officials were promoted, and the Organized Crime Unit successfully traced 30 suspects in 55 different cases, recovering 5 million rupees worth of stolen property. Moreover, 8 missing children were traced and reunited with their parents.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar commended the Chiniot Police for their effective handling of robbery, murder, and other serious cases. He emphasized the importance of using modern technology to protect citizens’ lives and property and to prevent crimes. Dr. Anwar also highlighted the need for a more effective strategy to improve public service delivery for the citizens.
