Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Meets Pakistan Army Chief to Discuss Bilateral Defense Cooperation


Rawalpindi, Mr. Sun Weidong, the Vice Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China, met with General Syed Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of Pakistan, at the General Headquarters (GHQ) today.



According to Inter Services Public Relations, the meeting focused on matters of mutual interest and the enhancement of bilateral defense cooperation between Pakistan and China. Vice Foreign Minister Weidong highlighted the strong strategic partnership between the two nations, acknowledging Pakistan’s contributions to regional peace and stability. He also expressed China’s satisfaction with the security arrangements for the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.



General Munir thanked Mr. Weidong for his positive remarks and reiterated the foundation of the Pakistan-China relationship, which is based on shared goals of regional peace, stability, and prosperity for both countries.
