ISLAMABAD: Chinese President Xi Jinping has extended a congratulatory message to President Asif Ali Zardari on the occasion of Pakistan Day, underscoring the robust ties between the two nations.

According to Radio Pakistan, President Xi highlighted the steadfast efforts by the Pakistani government and its people in safeguarding national sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity. He acknowledged Pakistan’s perseverance in overcoming challenges and contributing to regional peace and development.

The Chinese leader emphasized the significance of this year, marking the start of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan and the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan. He expressed optimism for continued collaboration, urging both nations to enhance strategic communication and align development strategies.

President Xi affirmed his commitment to fostering a closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future, aiming to benefit both countries. Chinese Premier Li Qiang also conveyed his congratulations to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
