Chinese Policy Makers Commend Pakistan’s Economic Reforms and Stability

Beijing: Chinese policy makers have expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s macro-economic stability and the recent staff-level agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The commendation came during high-level meetings in Beijing, where Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari presented Pakistan’s governmental reforms and ongoing engagements with the IMF.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the discussions highlighted Pakistan’s significant progress in improving macroeconomic indicators through focused reforms in taxation, energy, and the privatization of state-owned enterprises. These reforms have begun to yield visible results, notably reducing inflation from 38 percent to 13 percent, which demonstrates a robust stride towards economic stabilization.
