Islamabad: A Chinese delegation has expressed interest in developing a state-of-the-art theme park in Islamabad, aiming to boost the city’s infrastructure and aesthetics.
According to Capital Development Authority announcement issued on 10 July 2024, the delegation met with CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, on Tuesday to explore various investment opportunities. These included proposals to transition the CDA office building and streetlights to solar power, enhancing energy efficiency across the capital. Chairman Randhawa expressed a warm welcome to the investment plans, highlighting the theme park’s potential to strengthen financial and cultural ties between China and Pakistan.
The discussions also touched on the importance of sustainable development, with Randhawa directing his team to share data on solar power conversion with the Chinese delegates. Additionally, he announced plans to consult with the Ministry of Energy to develop a comprehensive strategy for the solar transition, ensuring it aligns with global best practices.
