China Secretariat to Boost Pakistan-China Youth Vocational Training

Beijing: In a strategic move to enhance bilateral collaboration in vocational education and technical training, the China Secretariat of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme (PMYP) will be established at the Beijing headquarters of Tangfeng International Education Group. The announcement came during a visit by Mr. Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Chairman of the PMYP, who led a high-level delegation to China to advance cooperation in youth development and emerging technologies.

According to Press Information Department, the delegation engaged with officials from Guangdong Open University to review progress on vocational education cooperation projects initiated during Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to China. The meetings served to reinforce the partnership and accelerate the implementation of ongoing skills development initiatives. As a major milestone, the delegation unveiled the plaque of the Pakistan National Vocational Education Teachers Training Base, marking a significant step in institutional cooperation aimed at enhancing teacher training and improving technical education standards.

The visit further included academic and cultural exchanges with students and tours of advanced training laboratories, highlighting practical vocational education and innovation-driven skill development. The delegation also visited Beijing Guangda Boye Technology Development Co., Ltd., focusing on industry-academia integration and the development of new energy vehicle (NEV) training programmes. Both sides expressed interest in establishing a collaborative platform to facilitate the transfer of educational resources and industrial technology to Pakistan, thereby supporting the country’s emerging economic sectors.

The visit concluded with a shared commitment to advancing education cooperation projects, reaffirming the resolve to move from framework agreements to concrete implementation. The initiatives are expected to contribute significantly to workforce development, technology transfer, and long-term educational collaboration between Pakistan and China.
