China-Pakistan Economic Ties Bolstered by New Reports on Cooperation

Islamabad: The China Chamber of Commerce in Pakistan, in partnership with the Institute of Regional Studies (IRS), launched two key reports that highlight the profound impact of Chinese companies on Pakistan’s power sector and the business climate. The reports, titled “The Glorious 11 Years – How Chinese Companies Reshaped the Power Sector in Pakistan” and the “Business Climate Index of Chinese Companies in Pakistan,” were unveiled in a ceremony attended by notable Pakistani officials and the Chinese ambassador.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Senate Chairman Yousuf Raza Gillani emphasized at the event the continued benefits that Pakistan reaps from Chinese investments, which underscore the deepening economic ties between the two nations. Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar and Minister for Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb also spoke highly of the future prospects for collaboration and the current contributions of Chinese firms to Pakistan’s economic landscape.

Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong addressed the significant enhancements in Pakistan’s energy sector brought about by Chinese investment, noting the creation of numerous job opportunities for the Pakistani youth and strengthening of the country’s energy infrastructure. These developments were highlighted as pivotal in bolstering the economic partnership between China and Pakistan.
