Quetta: Balochistan Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan led a conference involving divisional commissioners and deputy commissioners to address critical issues, including teacher and doctor attendance, anti-smuggling measures, and the transition of agricultural tubewells to solar power. Key officials participated via video link, emphasizing the government’s commitment to law and order, education, and health.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the Chief Secretary urged officials to ensure their presence in their districts and to fulfill their duties effectively. The meeting highlighted the activation of 847 schools in the province and discussed measures to provide quality education. The dismissal of absent teachers was recommended across several divisions, with specific numbers cited for Loralai, Naseerabad, Kalat, Quetta, Sibi, Makran, and Zhob.
The Chief Secretary instructed expedited recruitment of teachers and doctors on a contract basis and emphasized monitoring food prices to prevent tariff violations. Additionally, it was reported that 90 levies personnel were dismissed for absenteeism, with 34 others suspended. The meeting underscored ongoing efforts to improve administrative efficiency and service delivery in Balochistan.
