Chief of Army Staff Visits Pakistan Ordnance Factories, Highlights Indigenous Defense Capabilities


Rawalpindi, In a significant visit underscoring the importance of local defense production, General Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), Chief of Army Staff (COAS), toured the Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) in Wah. This visit comes as a testament to Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to boost indigenous capabilities in defense manufacturing.



According to Inter Services Public Relations, during his visit, the COAS was briefed on the production capacities of the POF, emphasizing its crucial role in meeting the defense needs of the Pakistan Armed Forces. The briefing also highlighted the export potential of these locally manufactured products.



The COAS had the opportunity to witness a range of products produced by POF, including new weapons and ammunition that are currently undergoing tests and trials. These products are a result of indigenous design and manufacturing, showcasing the advanced level of Pakistan’s defense industry.



In his address to the officers and staff of POF, General Munir expressed his appreciation for their significant contributions to the nation’s security and economy. He lauded POF for being the prime defense industry of Pakistan. His remarks emphasized the critical role of indigenous and local industries, like POF Wah, in shaping the path of national progress.
