Islamabad, In a solemn assertion of national resolve, Pakistan’s Army Chief, General Syed Asim Munir, has reiterated the nation’s commitment to combating terrorism with unwavering dedication and vigor. The statement followed his participation in the funeral prayers of five martyred soldiers in Peshawar, marking a poignant moment of national reflection and resolve.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, General Munir visited Peshawar today where he led the funeral prayers for Sepoy Taimoor Shaheed, Sepoy Nadir Sagheer Shaheed, Sepoy Muhammad Yaseen Shaheed, Lance Naik Syed Danish Afkar Shaheed, and Naik Ashfaq Butt Shaheed. These soldiers had lost their lives in a fierce encounter with terrorists in the Bagh area of the Khyber district.
The funeral was attended by a large contingent of military and civil officials, underscoring the collective mourning and solidarity. Post the funeral, General Munir visited the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Peshawar to check on the troops wounded in the operation, acknowledging their sacrifice and valor with high praise for their morale.
The martyrs will be honored with full military ceremonies in their respective hometowns, ensuring their ultimate sacrifice is remembered and revered across the nation.
