Lahore, March 19, 2022 (PPI-OT): Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has congratulated the citizen of Rawalpindi and Islamabad on the launch of Rawalpindi Ring Road project. The Chief Minister said that the completion of this project will not only provide modern and batter transport facilities to the people of twin cities but also smoothen the traffic flow.
He said that according to the survey, after every five years the traffic in major cities doubled. He said that PTI government got the pride of launching Rawalpindi Ring Road project. He said that 38 KM long Ring Road started from National High Ways N-5 will has 6 lanes and 5 interchanges and this project will cost Rs. 33.70 billion.
The contract of Rawalpindi Ring Road Project has been awarded to FWO and this scheme will be completed 24 months. The completion of this project will generate job opportunities for local people besides accelerating the commercial and economic activities. He further disclosed that studies are being conducted for setting up of Ring Roads in Faisalabad, Multan and Sialkot and work will soon be started on these projects.
These views were expressed by him while addressing the foundation stone laying ceremony of Rawalpindi Ring Road. He said that work is being speedily carried out not on 822 development schemes worth Rs. 195 billion. Out of which 55% schemes have been completed. Record development work is being ensured in Punjab said Usman Buzdar.
