Chief Minister Pledges Protection for Children on World Day for Prevention of Abuse

Lahore: In a message on the World Day for the Prevention of and Healing from Child Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Violence, Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif emphasized the importance of protecting children, whom she described as her “red line.” She stated her commitment to preventing all forms of violence against children and underscored the collective responsibility to safeguard their future.

According to the Chief Minister of Punjab, the message urged parents to provide a safe environment for children, encouraging open communication and proper care. She expressed concern over the abuse, exploitation, and violence some children endure in society, noting the detrimental effects on their mental, physical, and emotional development.

Chief Minister Sharif highlighted the establishment of Pakistan’s first Virtual Child Safety Center as a proactive measure to protect children and offer timely assistance. Additionally, the Child Protection Bureau has been activated to further this cause. She called upon parents, teachers, and all societal segments to contribute to the protection of children and prayed for divine assistance in ensuring their security and promising future.
