Karachi, Justice (Retd) Maqbool Baqar, the Interim Chief Minister of Sindh, has undertaken a project to beautify Shahrah-e-Faisal, aiming to improve the image of Karachi, particularly for visitors entering from the Jinnah Terminal.
According to Sindh CM House, during a meeting with KDA, KMC, and leading architects of the city, Justice Baqar emphasized the need to enhance the aesthetic appeal of key thoroughfares and places. The discussion was part of a broader effort to address the negative perceptions among people arriving at and departing from the city’s airport. Detailed plans include environmental improvements, the beautification of pedestrian bridges, and the installation of street furniture, signboards, and artworks that represent Karachi’s unique urban identity. In the first phase, the area from Falaknaz Apartments to Drug Road will be targeted for beautification, with further development plans for other areas following suit.
