Lahore: “Pneumonia can be dangerous for children and the elderly,” stated Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif in her message marking World Pneumonia Day. She emphasized the global impact of the disease, noting that “Pneumonia kills millions of children and the elderly worldwide every year.” Sharif further highlighted the importance of vaccination, stating, “Pneumonia vaccination is essential for children under the age of five.”
According to Chief Minister of Punjab, Sharif addressed the need for timely diagnosis and treatment, explaining that “Pneumonia can be controlled with timely diagnosis and treatment.” She stressed the collective responsibility of awareness and prevention, saying, “Awareness of prevention and timely treatment of pneumonia is a collective responsibility.” In her message, Sharif also advised increased vigilance during colder months, urging people to “Pay special attention to the health of children in winter to prevent pneumonia.”
