Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif participated in the Honhar Scholarship Program ceremony at Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan, where she distributed cheques to recipients of the scholarship. The event featured cultural presentations and showcased the achievements of students.
According to Chief Minister of Punjab, the ceremony included a performance of the national anthem by a visually-impaired student, which Sharif acknowledged by personally accompanying the student to her seat. Sharif expressed her appreciation for the female students who participated in the event by reciting religious texts, and distributed the Honhar Scholarship cheques to the female students in attendance.
The ceremony also featured a salute from a contingent of Punjab Police to the scholarship recipients and a documentary on the Honhar Scholarship program. Students from Jhang and Muzaffargarh thanked the Chief Minister in Seraiki, highlighting the regional diversity of the recipients. Provincial Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat addressed the gathering, and the Chief Minister concluded the event by engaging with the female students, taking selfies, and interacting extensively with them.
