Lahore, In a heartfelt message marking Pakistan’s Constitution Day on April 10, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif honored the architects of the Constitution, emphasizing the event as a reaffirmation of the document’s supreme status in the nation’s governance and its pivotal role in defining federal and provincial autonomy.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the Chief Minister reflected on the unanimous adoption of the 1973 Constitution as a watershed moment in Pakistan’s parliamentary history, heralding a new era of democracy, equality, tolerance, and personal freedom. Sharif highlighted the Constitution’s significance in bolstering federal and provincial relationships, ensuring the protection of social justice, and fostering equality among followers of various religions.
Sharif’s message also underscored the Constitution as a living document that guarantees the rights and freedoms of Pakistan’s citizens and acts as a bedrock for the nation’s democratic values.
