Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif Advocates for Palestinian Rights on Solidarity Day

Lahore: On Palestine Solidarity Day, Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, expressed profound concern over the global indifference to the struggles of the Palestinian people, emphasizing the universal significance of their plight. In a powerful declaration of support, she reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab announcement issued on 07 October 2024, Chief Minister Sharif criticized the silence of the international community on the ongoing oppression faced by Palestinians, describing it as a “human tragedy.” She stressed that the issue transcends national boundaries and affects global peace and human rights.

During her message, Sharif highlighted the consistent efforts of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) to advocate for Palestinian rights on international platforms, including the strong stance taken by Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the recent United Nations General Assembly. She asserted that Pakistan’s government and its people stand in solidarity with Palestine and will continue their support until the conflict is resolved in accordance with the desires of the Palestinian people.

Chief Minister Sharif called upon the world and human rights organizations to actively support the Palestinian cause and work towards safeguarding their rights, stressing that peace cannot be achieved until justice is served in Palestine.
