Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Calls for United Effort to Resolve National Crises


Lahore, In a compelling address during the parliamentary party meeting, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif emphasized the necessity for collective action across political parties to tackle the country’s deep-rooted problems. Acknowledging the severity of the challenges faced by Pakistan, she stated that the issues are so significant that no single political entity could resolve them independently. The Chief Minister underscored the shared mission of PML-N, PPP, PML-Q, IPP, and Zia League to navigate the country out of its current turmoil.



According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz expressed her gratitude towards Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for his supportive words and pledged unanimous support for Asif Ali Zardari as the presidential candidate, urging assembly members to vote in alignment with party discipline. She highlighted the positive impact that Asif Ali Zardari’s presidency would bring, given his ability to transcend political divisions and foster cooperative relationships.



Further, Maryam Nawaz thanked God for the departure of those she termed as violators of the constitution and called for an end to the divisive “cartoon network” of Pakistani politics, advocating for unity and reconciliation post-election. She also addressed the urgent need to focus on the welfare of those deprived of basic necessities, emphasizing that aiding the impoverished transcends political affiliations.



The Chief Minister announced the initiation of the Ramadan Nigheban Package, a pioneering effort to deliver essential food hampers directly to the doorsteps of the needy, highlighting the distribution of 3 lakh gift hampers under the pilot project.



On International Women’s Day, Maryam Nawaz celebrated the growing influence of women in the Punjab Assembly and encouraged all women to contribute to the nation’s advancement. She paid homage to inspirational figures such as Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah and Benazir Bhutto Shaheed, reflecting on the enduring impact of her meeting with Benazir Bhutto and the guidance of her own mother.



The meeting, held at the Governor House, saw participation from PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and leaders from allied parties, including PML-Q’s Ch. Shafay Hussain and IPP’s Ghazanfar Abbas Cheema. Discussions covered a unified strategy for the upcoming presidential election and other legislative matters, with Bilawal Bhutto extending his congratulations to Maryam Nawaz for her role as Chief Minister and discussing collaborative efforts for the political future.
