Peshawar, In a pivotal meeting convened at the Chief Minister House Peshawar, Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, alongside leaders from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, delved into an extensive discussion on enhancing public services and urban development within the provincial capital. The assembly highlighted a range of critical issues including transportation, traffic congestion, infrastructure improvement, and water and sewage system upgrades.
According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the meeting saw the participation of notable figures such as Arbab Sher Ali, Shandana Gulzar, and Mehmood Jan, among others. Chief Minister Gandapur emphasized Peshawar’s significance to the province, underscoring the government’s commitment to its development and the resolution of its myriad public issues through a well-structured plan and strategy.
In his vision for a revitalized Peshawar, Gandapur pledged to restore the city’s former glory as a city of flowers, with plans to transition street lighting to solar energy. Furthermore, he announced negotiations with a private company to introduce local trains on a BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) model, aimed at alleviating the city’s traffic woes.
The meeting also cast a spotlight on the pressing challenge of drainage in Peshawar, with the Chief Minister committing to an underground drainage system for a lasting solution. To improve the efficiency of public service delivery, Gandapur promised merit-based appointments in all provincial autonomous bodies and advocated for empowered local governments to address issues at the grassroots level.
This gathering marks a significant step toward addressing the pressing needs of Peshawar, highlighting the provincial government’s dedication to urban development and the enhancement of public services.
