Quetta: In a significant policy announcement, Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti unveiled multiple educational initiatives and detailed the Balochistan Youth Policy aimed at integrating the youth of the province with the state and fostering development opportunities. The policy announcement came during a scholarship distribution ceremony in Quetta, where educational scholarships were awarded to students under the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Scholarship Program.
According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the Chief Minister addressed the attendees, focusing on the recent terrorist incidents and the alienation of the Baloch youth. He emphasized that the Balochistan Youth Policy was crafted to correct this disconnection and provide substantial development opportunities. At the event, scholarships were distributed to 2,500 male and female students, a significant increase from the annual 1,200 due to the expansion of the scholarship program.
The Chief Minister highlighted several key aspects of the new educational policy, including the provision of scholarships for higher education in renowned universities worldwide for 200 students and the inclusion of transgenders in the scholarship program. Moreover, the government has launched initiatives to provide technical education to 30,000 youths and interest-free loans for entrepreneurial pursuits.
In his speech, Chief Minister Bugti reiterated his commitment to merit and transparency in employment and educational opportunities, urging those who encounter corruption to report it immediately. He also promised that development projects would proceed without discrimination across districts, enhancing service delivery and democratic governance.
The educational event not only marked a significant policy shift but also a commitment to tackling the challenges faced by the youth in Balochistan, aiming to equip them with the necessary tools for future contributions to the region and the country at large.
