Chief Justice Underscores Need For Successful Tax Dispute Resolution System


Islamabad: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Yahya Afridi has stressed the critical need for a successful Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) system to ensure prompt resolution of tax disagreements. He made these remarks during a meeting with Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb in Islamabad. Justice Afridi reiterated the government’s vital role in making the ADR process truly effective.



The Chief Justice outlined the Supreme Court’s current programs to improve legal access, upgrade court procedures, categorize tax cases, and enhance service delivery through technological advancements. He informed the Finance Minister about training being conducted at the Judicial Academy for judicial officers and Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) members, with upcoming plans to extend this training to Competition Commission of Pakistan officers.



The Finance Minister expressed his appreciation for the court system’s reform efforts and pledged the government’s continued support in providing necessary resources for judicial advancement projects. Both officials emphasized the significance of collaborative work between the judicial and executive branches to uphold legal principles and protect citizens’ rights.
