Islamabad: A delegation from the Istanbul Bar Association met with the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Mr. Justice Yahya Afridi, at the Supreme Court of Pakistan as part of their visit to the country. The meeting was facilitated by the Pakistan Bar Council and attended by Dr. Irfan Neziroglu, the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Pakistan, and Peer Muhammad Masood Chishti, Vice Chairman of the Pakistan Bar Council.

According to Press Information Department, the Chief Justice highlighted the longstanding relations between Pakistan and Türkiye, emphasizing shared history and cooperation. He noted that Pakistan has benefited from Türkiye’s experience in judicial administration and legal reforms. The Chief Justice expressed satisfaction with the growing collaboration between the legal communities of both countries and indicated that professional exchanges at the Bar level would enhance institutional ties.

The delegation expressed appreciation for the hospitality of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and committed to fostering closer engagement between the Bars of both countries through knowledge exchange and sharing of professional expertise. The Chief Justice assured the delegation of full institutional support for initiatives aimed at strengthening legal and judicial cooperation.

The meeting concluded with discussions on mutual interests, underscoring the commitment of both nations to institutional collaboration, capacity-building, and the promotion of the rule of law through continued engagement.
