Islamabad, September 21, 2023 (PPI-OT): Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani delivered a video message at the 6th Sino-Arab States Expo in Yinchuan, capital of northwest China’s Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, China, marking the occasion of the expo’s 10th anniversary. The four-day event, taking place from September 21 to 24, saw participation from over 50 countries, including Saudi Arabia and Mauritania.
This year’s Expo is a testament to global collaboration, featuring engaging forums on a wide array of topics such as trade and investment, modern agriculture, cross-border trade, cultural tourism, health, water resources utilization, and meteorological cooperation.
Chairman Senate’s video message was also prominently screened during the Expo’s opening ceremony, emphasizing the importance of Pakistan’s involvement in this significant event.
In his address, the Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani congratulated China and the Arab States on the 10th anniversary of the China-Arab States Expo, highlighting its role as a crucial platform for knowledge exchange, innovation, and mutual development. The participation of Arab countries, especially Saudi Arabia, was lauded as a welcome endeavor, underlining their pivotal role in promoting cultural and economic growth.
Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani emphasized the expo’s potential to further regional development and economic prosperity, acknowledging Pakistan’s enduring partnership and trust with China and Arab countries. The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was highlighted as a cornerstone of their cooperation, not only ensuring development for their nations but also serving as a vital corridor between China and the Arab countries.
As the expo coincides with the 10th anniversary of China’s proposed Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), Chairman Senate stressed the need to ensure timely investment and development in the face of emerging competition in the region. He encouraged exploring joint ventures in technology, trade, tourism, sports, and other sectors to achieve a common vision of development.
Chairman Senate expressed optimism for the future with the visionary leadership of President Xi Jinping and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. He envisioned this expo creating abundant investment opportunities, particularly in Pakistan, reinforcing its role as an attractive destination for investment.
Highlighting the global challenge of climate change, Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani urged developed countries to support Pakistan in combating its effects, considering the country’s low share of global carbon emissions but significant vulnerability to climate impacts.
In conclusion, Chairman Senate emphasized that this Expo and future endeavours should pave the way for a prosperous, harmonious, and interconnected future, promoting global cooperation and shared prosperity.
