Chairman Senate Gilani Emphasizes Pakistan-China Strategic Partnership, Commends Chinese Investments


Islamabad: A delegation from the Tabani Group and Shandong Hi-Speed Group Co., Ltd., one of China’s state-owned infrastructure and investment enterprises, met with Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani at Parliament House to discuss enhancing economic cooperation and investment opportunities between Pakistan and China.



According to Press Information Department, the SDHS delegation was led by Chairman Xu Xiang and included Country Director Wang Zhenrong and Humza Tabani, Chairman of the Tabani Group. Discussions centered on strengthening economic ties and exploring investments in infrastructure, transportation, energy, logistics, and industrial development.



Chairman Senate Yousaf Raza Gilani underscored the enduring friendship between Pakistan and China, highlighting China’s consistent support and the value Pakistan places on this relationship. He acknowledged the role of Chinese investments in fostering economic development and emphasized the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as a crucial project enhancing regional connectivity and economic growth.



Gilani expressed optimism about the future expansion of trade and investment relations, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to creating an investment-friendly environment. He also noted the importance of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) in promoting investment and economic stability.



The SDHS delegation shared insights into their global operations and expressed their dedication to expanding their investment portfolio in Pakistan. Both parties concluded the meeting by reaffirming their commitment to deepening cooperation and promoting investment initiatives beneficial for regional connectivity and economic development.
