Chairman Senate Emphasizes Brands as Pillars of Economic Growth


ISLAMABAD: Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, stated that brands are crucial to a nation’s economic strength and international image during the 16th Annual Brands of the Year Awards ceremony in Islamabad. Addressing the attendees as the Chief Guest, he highlighted the role of brands in driving economic growth and serving as tools for economic diplomacy.



In his address, Chairman Gilani emphasized the growing recognition of Pakistani brands on the global stage. He noted their contribution to enhancing Pakistan’s image through achievements in sports, IT, industry, and services. He outlined that successful brands emerge from ongoing research, innovation, design, and effective marketing strategies.



Addressing the youth, he pointed to their creativity and technological acumen as vital for leading Pakistan towards a “Brand Power Economy.” He acknowledged the increasing prominence of Pakistani brands internationally, attributing it to their integrity, quality, and creativity.



Gilani underscored the role of the government in fostering a conducive environment for trade, investment, and industry. He stressed the importance of building both physical and digital infrastructure to support entrepreneurial ambitions.



He remarked that developed economies are anchored in the global recognition of their brands, urging Pakistani brands to prioritize quality and trust over price for long-term success. He highlighted that global success in various sectors enhances Pakistan’s reputation and strengthens economic diplomacy.



The Chairman praised the Brands Foundation for its role in promoting brand culture and excellence in Pakistan. He congratulated award winners, calling them key contributors to a resilient economic future.
