Islamabad: Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, met with Ather Zahid, a notable Pakistani professional wrestler, who is recognized as the first Saudi-born Pakistani wrestler to represent Pakistan in international competitions.

According to Press Information Department, the Chairman extended his congratulations to Ather Zahid for his achievements and expressed hope for his continued success. He acknowledged Zahid’s commitment and contribution to elevating Pakistan’s stature on the global wrestling stage.

Chairman Senate Gilani highlighted the role of sports in fostering peace, friendship, and harmony among nations, describing athletes as ambassadors who inspire and enhance a country’s image. He further stressed the importance of sports in promoting physical fitness, mental well-being, discipline, and resilience. Gilani called for collective efforts to support young talent, improve sports infrastructure, and create opportunities for Pakistani athletes to succeed at both regional and international levels.
