Chairman Senate Announces Nationwide ‘Day of Gratitude’ After Diplomatic Advances


Islamabad: Pakistan’s Senate session, led by Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, has announced a nationwide ‘Day of Gratitude’ to be observed on Friday. This follows key diplomatic breakthroughs, including an anticipated peace agreement between the United States and Iran. The announcement came during discussions on the Federal Budget, as Senator Hafiz Abdul Karim highlighted the significance of such developments in fostering peace and cooperation in the region.



According to Senate of Pakistan, Senator Karim proposed the observance of the Day of Gratitude to recognize the efforts of Pakistan’s political and military leadership in promoting regional and global peace. The proposal received appreciation from Chairman Senate Gilani, who emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to peace, dialogue, and diplomacy. He noted the positive impact of the country’s diplomatic initiatives on its international image and reiterated that regional disputes should be addressed through dialogue and mutual respect.



In his official ruling, Chairman Senate Gilani directed the government to arrange for the observance of the Day of Gratitude, aimed at acknowledging Pakistan’s role in advancing peace and stability. He expressed optimism that the recent diplomatic progress would pave the way for enduring peace and create new opportunities for economic cooperation and prosperity in the region.
