New York: Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, held discussions with United Nations officials to explore collaborations aimed at enhancing youth development initiatives. During his meeting with the Assistant Secretary-General for Economic Development at the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs, Naveed Hanif, the discussions centered on productive employment, future skills, digital transformation, and increasing youth participation in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

According to Radio Pakistan, the discussions highlighted Pakistan’s Learning-to-Earning approach through the Prime Minister’s Digital Youth Hub. The Assistant Secretary-General acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts and commitment to establishing the UN Youth Delegate Programme, emphasizing its role in empowering young people in global policymaking and advancing youth representation on international platforms.

In a separate meeting, Khan met with UNICEF Deputy Executive Director of Programmes, Omar Abdi, to enhance collaboration on several initiatives, including the Learning-to-Earning initiative, the Prime Minister’s Digital Youth Hub, ‘Pur Azm Pakistan’, and the implementation of the National Adolescent and Youth Policy. Both sides explored cooperation under Generation Unlimited to equip Pakistan’s youth with skills needed for success in an AI-driven and green economy.
