Chairman of Kashmir Committee Condemns International Silence on Kashmir, Vows Continued Support


Islamabad: Chairman of the Special Committee on Kashmir, Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon, criticized the international community for its silence on the alleged atrocities committed by Indian forces in Kashmir and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to support the Kashmiri people at various levels. These statements were made during a meeting with Hurriat leaders in Islamabad, where strategies to enhance the effectiveness of the Kashmir Committee were also discussed.



According to National Assembly of Pakistan, Rana Qasim Noon emphasized the historical context of the Kashmir issue, describing it as an “unfinished agenda of the partition of the Sub-continent.” He highlighted the ongoing struggles faced by Kashmiris and the alleged brutalities inflicted by Indian armed forces over the past seventy-six years. The chairman expressed gratitude towards the Hurriat leaders for their persistent efforts towards the Kashmir cause and discussed enhancing the committee’s role in regional and international forums.



During the meeting, the Hurriat leaders congratulated Noon on his appointment as the chairman and discussed the importance of including Hurriat members in the Kashmir Committee to strengthen its impact. They urged for a more pronounced role of the committee in international bodies like the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to garner support against the human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
