Karachi: General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, has engaged in comprehensive discussions with international defense officials during his visit to the 12th International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS-24) held at the Expo Center in Karachi. These meetings focused on strengthening defense and security collaborations.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Chairman met with defense ministers and armed forces commanders from a diverse array of nations including Turkiye, Azerbaijan, South Africa, and Argentina, among others. The dialogues centered on enhancing bilateral security relations and expanding cooperation in defense production. There was a notable interest among international dignitaries to deepen engagement with Pakistan’s defense sector.

General Mirza also delivered a keynote address at a seminar titled “Pakistan’s Defence Production and Potential: Challenges and Way Forward,” highlighting Pakistan’s defense industry’s role in supporting its armed forces and seeking global collaborations. He emphasized the importance of IDEAS as a platform to showcase Pakistan’s defense capabilities to a global audience. Additionally, he praised the Tri-Services for their efforts in demonstrating locally produced defense equipment meeting international standards.
