Islamabad: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman, Lieutenant General (Retired) Nazir Ahmed, delivered a compelling address to participants of the 3rd Senior Management Course from the Sindh Provincial Civil Service during their visit to the NAB headquarters. He stressed the importance of unwavering integrity, character-building, and a firm stand against corruption as essential components of effective governance and public service.

According to Press Information Department, the Chairman urged the senior bureaucrats to surpass their predecessors in honesty and moral integrity. He highlighted the necessity of personal capacity building, character strengthening, and professional competency development. Emphasizing a zero-tolerance stance on dishonesty, he called on the officers to reject corrupt practices and contribute to national development. The Chairman reiterated NAB’s commitment to eradicating corruption and reminded the participants of their duty to protect state assets and perform their duties with dedication.

Earlier, Director General (Operations) Amjad Majeed Aulakh provided a detailed briefing on the National Accountability Ordinance of 1999, NAB’s structure, ongoing reforms, and the bureau’s performance metrics. He highlighted NAB’s significant achievements, including recoveries amounting to 14.485 trillion rupees, or 51.73 billion US dollars, over the past three years. The bureau’s focus remains on recovering state assets, addressing public cheating cases, and tackling Anti-Money Laundering Act cases.

The session concluded with a question-and-answer segment, where visiting officers inquired about administrative frameworks and anti-corruption strategies, which were addressed by the Chairman and Director General. The visit ended with a group photograph and a ceremonial exchange of souvenirs between NAB leadership and the visiting officials.
